Chaaya means
“gentle shade”
In Sinhala, chaaya is the cool shade beneath a palm on a bright afternoon. That is what we built: a calm, family-run refuge just a two-minute walk from Hikkaduwa Beach.
Every room has its own balcony, private bathroom, air-conditioning, a work desk and free WiFi. Climb higher and the view opens to the sea. Downstairs, the restaurant smokes fresh seafood on the grill, the garden fills with lanterns and the outdoor fireplace crackles under the stars.

We offer Family rooms (2 double beds), Triple rooms (1 double + 1 single) and Double rooms (1 double bed). All rooms have an attached washroom and a private balcony; second- and third-floor rooms enjoy sea views.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is until 11:00. Express check-in/check-out is available.
How much does it cost to stay?
